Dr. Ir. Kamiel Spoelstra has a research position at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (NIOO-KNAW). His studies focus on the influence of our modern society on our natural environment. Much of his research is centered around the effect of light pollution and its impact on the temporal and spatial activity patterns of species, how light at night affects their interaction and subsequently how different effects eventually influence population levels.
