Prof. van Bodegom is professor Environmental Biology at the Institute of Environmental Sciences, Leiden University. He is strongly interested in understanding the impacts of society on nature and biodiversity, but also to show how society depends on nature. He does so by developing state-of-the-art tools for assessments from molecular ecology to remote sensing and data science, while being engaged in transdisciplinary teams to create new visions on our landscape and the role of nature therein.
